Ali's Mural
These are some preliminary sketches (they got exposed to the weather!) and photos of the beginning of a indoor wall mural I have yet to finish. The owner of the wall is a motorcyclist, so I'm incorporating motorbike imagery into a scene of a tree lined path going into the distance at sunset.
Moloaa Bay Organic Farm Mosaic
I moved to the island of Kauai, Hawaii in November 2011 for five months, and within a few weeks was involved in a collaborative mosaic project in Moloaa Bay on a beautiful piece of land owned by Anthony Parisi. He has a wonderful vision for his land there, and is working toward a healing retreat centre with art, music, massage, acupuncture, yoga, dance, sauna and more! We made the mosaic using a sand, soil and water 'cement' and pieces of tiles, beads, buttons, broken mirror, and odd ceramic materials that Anthony has collected over the last few decades during his travels. There are two walls with two Tree of Lifes on each, ones representing Spring and Summer, and one representing Autumn and Winter.
Granby Street Mural 2010
The above murals on Granby Street in Devonport, Plymouth 2010, were painted as part of a community project together with the police to clean up a block of run-down flats in a hope to brighten the feel of the whole place. I had the great pleasure of working along side three of my fellow University of Plymouth fine art students (all now graduated) Emily Trott, Rebecca Bellamy and Laura Pickering.
